A Way With Words Foundation to open gallery boutique in mall

Eastwood Mall will host a day-long grand opening March 27 for the new AwwwMazing Place gallery boutique, an outreach to benefit young cancer survivors and their families in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

Among the activities will be singing by the ROCck Children’s Choir at 11 a.m.; an appearance by LIFE MAXX, the foundation’s superhero; poetry and reading of the first “Tomato Alley” children’s book at 1 p.m.; and a special signing of “Simpsons” and “Popeye” comic books by award-winning creator Chris Yambar from 4 to 7 p.m.

On display will be works of such artists as Kurt Mannor, Bob Rider, Yambar and Susan Campbell; jewelry by Maxine; and a new line of cancer survivor shirts, mugs, music products and poetry publications.
