OVI task force

The Mahoning County OVI Task Force arrested six impaired drivers during an operating-a -vehicle-impaired sobriety-enforcement checkpoint Wednesday. The enforcement was on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman Township between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. The task force was assisted by the Ohio Investigative Unit of the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The results:

Number of cars through checkpoint zone: 2,600

Number of OVI arrests (over age 21): 6

Average BAC (blood-alcohol content): 0.16. The legal limit is 0.08.

Driving under suspension arrests: 5

Misc. other citations: 9

Misdemeanor citations: 5
