Annual Maple Syrup Festival in Boardman is next two weekends


BOARDMAN — Boardman Park is sponsoring its 33nd Annual Maple Syrup Festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and March 27 and 28.

The festival is an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and all the activities. Park staff will demonstrate how maple trees are tapped, sap collected and how the sap is boiled to make syrup.

Civil War re-enactors and wood carvers will be part of the event and attendees will be able to learn about township history from the Boardman Historical Society.

The Water Color Society is part of the festival and hayrides through the trails will also be available. Admission is free.

The Boardman Rotary Club have its annual pancake breakfast during these same dates and times. The cost of breakfast is $6 and children 6 and younger get in free.

Boy Scout Troop 60 will be demonstrating its skills and having a basket raffle. For more information, go to the park Web site, www.boardmanpark.com
