2 arrested in Cincy schools protest
CINCINNATI (AP) — Two Cincinnati civil rights leaders have been arrested at a protest of city schools’ hiring practices on construction projects.
Authorities say NAACP chapter head Christopher Smitherman and the Rev. Dock Foster, leader of a Baptist ministers group, face misdemeanor trespassing counts. They allegedly blocked workers at a school construction site this morning.
They have been demanding more contracts for black-owned companies on city school projects.
