School bus driver charged in crash in Philly
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A school bus driver is charged with homicide by vehicle in a crash involving his bus and a car near a suburban Philadelphia middle school.
Montgomery County prosecutors also charged Frederick Poust III with reckless endangerment. He was arraigned this afternoon.
The accident happened last month near Perkiomen Valley Middle School, about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Police say Poust, of Schwenksville, turned his bus in front of an oncoming car, killing a passenger in the car and injuring the driver.
Five students on the bus were shaken up.
Poust was cited for careless driving in a 1999 accident that killed a 2-year-old girl and touched off a national debate about motorists using cell phones.
