MCCTC Nail-a-thon
CANFIELD
Cosmetology students at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will host their annual Nail-a-thon from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the career center.
Manicures, facials and face and hand waxing services will be available, with proceeds from the event benefiting the junior cosmetology class.
All services are performed by cosmetology students under the supervision of their instructor, Linda Tomko.

Hubbard traffic control

Motorists traveling in Hubbard between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. weekdays should be alert to police traffic control and changed traffic patterns as Dominion East Ohio works on a gas-line replacement project. There may limited work on Saturdays as needed.
The project started at the gas- regulator station and has already or will affect Simler, Jackson, West Liberty and Scott streets and West Park and Christian avenues. The last segment will be from South Main Street, then south through city corporate limits into Hubbard Township, where the project will end at the intersection of County Line Road.
The estimated completion date is May 31.
Green Haven cleanup
Canfield
Due to weather conditions, Green Haven Memorial Gardens ground cleanup and wreath removal from grave sites will start Thursday.
Girard cemetery
Girard
Spring cleanup at Girard City Cemetery has been scheduled through April 1 for removing Christmas decorations from the graves.
After April 1, employees will remove Christmas decorations in preparation for Easter and Memorial Day.
Jackson Twp. cemetery
NORTH JACKSON
Jackson Township trustees are requesting that all Christmas decorations at the township cemetery be removed by March 21.
East Palestine cemetery
EAST PALESTINE
Fall and winter decorations must be removed from Glenview Cemetery by April 15. Flowers and other decorations will be discarded after that date.
Spring and summer decorations may be placed on graves beginning May 1.

104th birthday
MINERAL RIDGE
Weathersfield Township trustees have proclaimed March 24 as Panagiola Cucuras Day in honor of her 104th birthday.
The Briarfield at the Ridge resident came to the nursing home from Warren, after she immigrated to the United States and Warren in 1966.
She moved into the nursing home in 2009.
