The Ursuline High football team just got a new set of armor.

Under Armour will be the official provider of shoes and athletic apparel for the team and coaching staff for the 2010-2012 seasons.

Ursuline is one of only 57 high schools nationwide to be a part of Under Armour’s “Undeniable” program. Cincinnati Elder is the only other Ohio team with this distinction.

Under Armour has targeted the top programs in the nation for the program, looking at wins, playoff appearances, state championships and outlook for future success. The contract is similar to a college footwear and apparel agreement.

“This agreement will help take our program to the next level,” said Irish coach Dan Reardon, whose team has played in three straight Division V state championship games, winning the last two. “Our kids have performed very well on the field, and Under Armour took notice.

“We are extremely excited about this partnership, and look forward to a long relationship with them.”

The contract includes customized uniforms that have been designed exclusively for Ursuline and customized footwear that will only be available to the 57 schools.

“Under Armour is at the cutting edge of design for apparel, footwear, and accessories and we can’t wait to wear their product this fall,” said Reardon, whose team is 38-6 over the past three years. “Our kids and staff are very excited because it is extremely rare for a high school team to earn this type of contract.”
