Internet safety for parents

Springfield Township Police Department’s Juvenile Diversion Program is offering a free Internet safety program from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Springfield Intermediate School auditorium.

The program is designed to assist parents in protecting their children while using the Internet. The program will include such topics as sexting, cyberbullying, e-mailing, instant messaging, video/photo sharing and parental controls.

Kathleen Nichols, youth and juvenile program director from the Ohio attorney general’s office, will be the guest speaker. There also will be vendors to provide free educational material.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lawrence County’s 16th annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake will be April 10 at Colonial Lanes. The event provides funds to make an impact on children in the community.

This year’s theme is “Beach Bum Bowling,” featuring bowling, food, entertainment and fun for the whole family, including a Big Kahuna Contest for the person dressed in the best beach wear. Businesses can become corporate sponsors.
