ALEXANDRIA, Va.
Vail, Colo., was the honeymoon destination of Benjamin Abalos, and his bride, the former Cynthia McKay, both of 1811 Potomac Greens Drive, who were married at 7 p.m. Dec. 31, 2009, at St. Mary Church. A reception followed at Hilton Old Town.
The Rev. Dennis Kleinmann officiated for the daughter of the late James N.B. and Judith H. McKay of Poland and the son of Auxenia M. Abalos of Vallejo, Calif., and the late Juan R. Abalos.
The bride’s white silk A-line gown featured a sweetheart neckline and chapel train and was adorned with crystals.
Julie McHugh, the honor attendant, wore a champagne-colored gown. White gowns with champagne sashes wore worn by the flower girls, Catherine Horner and Lily and Kate Grdic.
Serving as best man was Cedric Abalos, and ring bearers were Sebastian Aniciete and Roel and Cruz Marau.
The bride graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., with a bachelor’s degree and earned her juris doctorate from William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Va. She is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington.
The groom graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree and his juris doctorate, and is a professor of law and taxation in Washington.
The couple live in Alexandria.
