Art contest winners announced
YOUNGSTOWN
The Women’s Committee for Children’s Concerts, an affiliate of Youngstown Symphony, sponsored an art contest in conjunction with the Young People’s Concert, “Serious Fun,” on Thursday.
For the committee’s 70th annual concert, local artists judged the grade one through eight entries. The entire collection will be on display at the DeYor Performing Arts Center, West Federal Street, through March 22.
The winners from sixth through eighth grades are: Best in Show, Gwen Sieman, sixth grade, Willow Creek Learning Center, Poland; first place, Norah Young, eighth grade, Willow Creek; second place, Li Stebner, seventh grade, Willow Creek; third place, Christopher Corsol, seventh grade, St. Rose, Girard; honorable mention, Zachary Burelli, seventh grade, St. Rose, Girard.
Fourth- and fifth-grade winners are: first place, Makenzie Packo, fourth grade, Willow Creek; second place, Michaelina Terranova, fourth grade, Jackson-Milton Elementary; third place, Nick DiGiacomo, fifth grade, Willow Creek; honorable mention, Chloe Maffei, fifth grade, Jackson Milton.
First- through third-grade winners are: first place, Andre Cerneka, second grade, Willow Creek; second place, Olivia Altiere, first grade, Willow Creek; third place, David Gunger, first grade, Willow Creek; honorable mention, Ethan Ball, third grade, Willow Creek.
