Third-grade students in Miss Houston’s class at Watson Elementary School got a visit from local artist and YSU art teacher Christopher Leeper, Feb.26.
Before the visit, the student’s classroom teachers read one of the children’s books “Leeper illustrated” and during the art class he explained how an artist illustrates a story.
Leeper inspired the children to paint with watercolors when he painted an owl, the school mascot during the class. After the class, Leeper donated the painting to the school and Austintown board member Tom Stellers is having the painting framed so it can hang in the building.
