It's 8:55 a.m. and only five minutes from the start of the 77th Vindicator Regional Spelling Bee, held again this year in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.

The spellers, all champions in their own schools, are in their seats and ready to go. You can feel the anticipation in the air.
