SPELLING BEE LIVE: Competition narrows

The number is now down to just eight spellers as round five of the Vindicator Regional Spelling Bee comes to an end.

Julia Miglets and Andrew Rossi remain in the running, as does one fourth grader - Cierra Latronica from Springfield Elementary.

The audience remains polite and responsive, applauding each speller whether they spell their word correctly or not.

The rounds will move faster now as the number of contestants dwindles.
