Families and groups of students came out in droves to skate for Akron Children’s Hospital during Ice Zone’s “Skate for the Kids” weekend Feb. 27-28.

Members of the community crowded the rink during public skate sessions Feb. 27-28.

The Beeghly Campus of Akron Children’s Hospital, a 32-bed pediatric healthcare facility located in Boardman, received $1 for each regular-priced admission during public sessions over the weekend.

“We really appreciate the support of the Ice Zone,” JoAnn Stock, director of development for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, said. “Every dollar raised will stay here to help children served by Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley services and programs.
