Cardinals hockey celebrates 2010 season


The Canfield High School boys ice hockey team celebrated the end of the season at a banquet Mar. 2.

Players from Canfield’s varsity and developmental teams gathered for a final team dinner and awards ceremony at A La Cart Catering.

Head Coach Randy Emery thanked players and their families for their hard work and support this season.

Several varsity players were honored with awards at the banquet. Senior Scott Sittig was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. Sittig has also been nominated for the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.

Junior Joe Geiser was honored with the Dave DeJoe Coach’s Award. Juniors Nick Carney and Riley Emery were named Defensive and Offensive Players of the Year, respectively.

Junior Kyle Bassett was named Rookie of the Year.
