In July, the children of Beatitude House in Youngstown held a fundraiser by selling lemonade and cookies at their lemonade stand on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Lora.

In one afternoon, they made a profit of about $100, including several large donations over and above the 25 cents per cup of lemonade and 25 cents per cookie.

After discussing how they wanted to use the money, they decided to help sick children at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Since then, they have collected an assortment of coloring books, crayons, stickers, drawing paper, card games and liquid bubbles to fill “Activity Bags” for the out-patients who visit the hospital for chemotherapy, tests or other health treatments.

The bags were delivered to Akron Children’s Hospital by Shaun Hill, Beatitude House Child Advocate, and Darrayal Williams, one of the children living at Beatitude House.
