Good Morning

DON’T LET THE SUN ...

... rise over you this morning while you are standing in line at the Covelli Centre awaiting those $39 Elton John tickets. Remember how fast the $50 Kelly Pavlik tickets went a year ago? Think: “Faster.”

Think: “Hollywood” as in “Gone in 60 Seconds.”

You need to be at a computer this morning before 10 a.m. with a Ticketmaster account all set up to even have a ghost of a whisper of a hedge of a bet of a chance to get a $39 ticket. Don’t have a computer? Some ideas:

The computer at work: Check your company’s policies!

The library computer: Get there early!

The computer of your friend/neighbor/relative: Time to call in a favor or beg for one!

The best way to make sure you don’t get a ticket? Stand in line in front of the Covelli Centre. While you are in line, everyone on a computer has already completed their purchases.

Feelin’ A little Irish?

Not only do those participating in the second annual St. Paddy’s Downtown Dash today get to enjoy themselves and visit downtown, they’re helping a good cause.

The event will raise money and canned goods for the Gleaners Food Bank in Youngstown. The dash, which includes 16 downtown bars and restaurants, starts with a sign-in at 5 p.m. at the B&O Station, 230 Mahoning Ave.

Participants will be bused to the various locations participating.

Feelin’ A little Polka-ish?

And if you’re not interested in Irish step-dancing, try a polka. You can enjoy polka music, dancing and fish-dinner specials at McMenemy’s on U.S. Route 422 in Niles beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Feelin’ A little Skate-Ish?

For something a little less ethnic, Champion Rollerarena on state Route 45 in Champion offers a skate and dance party tonight from 6 to 11 p.m.

Feelin’ ... OK, no biker jokes ...

If riding is your style and you’re a woman, well, Harley Davidson has a deal for you. In conjunction with the first National Garage Party Month, Youngstown Harley Davidson Biketown will host a garage party for women only from 6 to 8 p.m. today at 5700 Interstate Blvd.
