Ohio Edison takes care of downed Girard power line

GIRARD — Police and fire departments responded to a report of a power line down about 4 p.m. Wednesday at 709 E. Liberty St., where a box truck from a business was backing into a driveway.

The truck snagged the line, causing it to fall very low into the eastbound lane, where two oncoming vehicles struck the lines. There was minor damage to the hoods and windshields.

Fire department personnel inspected the pole and power line and neither was damaged. Ohio Edison secured the power line.
