Police in two communities are investigating two deaths.
Detective David Talbert of the Salem Police Department said Wednesday he is continuing to investigate the death of Arthur Gilmore, 62, of North Broadway Avenue on Sept. 26, 2009.
Police and medical personnel responded, and he was taken to Salem Community Hospital, where he died.
Gilmore had moved from Youngstown to Salem about a year ago, according Talbert
He was retired from General Motors and had served in the U.S. Marines Corps.
St. Clair Township Police Don Hyatt said Wednesday that he was awaiting more test results involving the death of a 75-year-old woman.
The woman was found outside a home on Berkshire Road in the township late Tuesday.
The chief did not release the woman’s name. The woman owned the property but lived elsewhere, Hyatt said.
Both bodies were sent by the Columbiana County coroner’s office for autopsies at the Cuyahoga County coroner’s office.
Hyatt said he wants more information on the death of the woman before coming to an opinion on the cause.
Members of the Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation and the county prosecutor’s office were also involved in the investigation.
