New Castle man charged in rape of boy

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

State police arrested a Enon Valley, Pa., man, charged with multiple offenses involving the rape of a 10-year-old boy.

Robert Tonge Jr., 50, of Lawrence Lane, was arrested Monday at his home. He was arraigned and put in Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

He is charged with two counts each of rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and other charges.

and unlawful contact with a minor. He’s also charged with one count each of endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and sexual abuse of children.

The crimes are alleged to have occurred between 2004 and 2007 at various locations, but mostly at Tonge’s home, according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police.
