A Trumbull County grand jury indicted a Hamilton Street Southwest man who caused serious injuries to a pedestrian hit by a car on North Park Avenue in January.
Reginald Davis, 39, was indicted on charges of failure to stop after an accident and tampering with evidence. If convicted, he could spend up to six years in prison.
Davis had been out of prison less than two weeks at the time of the Jan. 14 accident for having hit a pedestrian on Youngstown Road on June 7, 2008, and leaving the scene.
Irene N. Comanescu, 47, whose last known address was the Warren Family Mission, was seriously injured after the Jan. 14 accident, which occurred about 5:15 p.m.
Davis turned himself in to police after he learned investigators were looking for him. He told police Comanescu was walking in the road and he didn’t see her, according to a police report.
The tampering charge was filed because Davis hid the car he was driving the night of the accident, police said.
Also indicted Thursday were Ralph Underwood, 20, of Maryland Street Northwest, and DeVincent C. Lowery, 18, of Peerless Avenue Southwest, who are accused of robbing a woman inside her Tod Avenue Northwest home Jan. 20.
Both men face charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, kidnapping and felonious assault. Underwood also faces a charge that he is a repeat violent offender, which could add more prison time.
