Two former Dann aides sentenced in Columbus
COLUMBUS — Former Attorney General Marc Dann’s chief of staff and communications manager were fined Thursday for ethics charges that surfaced after the scandal that led to their firing and to Dann’s eventual resignation.
Edgar Simpson will have to pay $1,000 for failing to disclose income on a required state ethics form, while Leo Jennings will pay $2,000 for failing to properly file forms and receiving improper compensation while working in the Attorney General’s Office.
Both also received suspended jail sentences for the crimes, and Jennings will have to complete 250 hours of community services.
Both also have committed to assisting in future investigations that could lead to further criminal charges for individuals involved in the scandal.
