Ohio man charged in 4 killings pleads guilty to 2

CINCINNATI (AP) — A prosecutor says an Ohio man who was charged in four killings and has pleaded guilty to two of them is a vicious serial killer who left a brutal trail of human destruction.

Prosecutor Joe Deters made that charge today in Cincinnati during opening statements in the trial of 41-year-old Anthony Kirkland.

Defense Attorney Norm Aubin told jurors Kirkland has admitted to all four killings and knows jurors may feel anger toward him. But Aubin said they must separate their emotions from their deliberations.

Before the jury was brought into court, Kirkland entered guilty pleas to murder and gross abuse of a corpse charges in the deaths of two women killed in 2006. He remains on trial in the killings of two teenage girls.
