The wedding of Lisa Ficke, a daughter of Greg and Carol Ficke of Mason, and Brent Barkett, a son of John and Georgia Barkett of Boardman, took place on Dec. 31, 2009, at St. Susanna Catholic Church.

The Rev. Tony Tozzi officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony, and a reception followed at the Manor House.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the Barketts live in Cincinnati.

The bride’s white satin and silk A-line gown featured a V-neckline and was embellished with beading.

Lindsay Ficke, the honor attendant, wore a black gown, as did the bridesmaids, Angela Blust, Jennifer Freson, Emily Genevich, Andrea Hyden, Kate Rutledge and Lauren Schneider.

Jason Despetorich performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Scott Barkett, Sean Corcoran, Matt Gambrel, Wade Hurley, Matt Klouse, Larry Jones and Bob Patrick.

The bride graduated from the University of Richmond with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She earned a doctorate in medicinal and biological chemistry at the University of Toledo and is a project leader for Kendle International Inc. in Cincinnati.

Mr. Barkett served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom with commendation. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Toledo and is a sales representative with OhioCat.
