The Aug. 15, 2009, wedding of Julie Work of Poland and Nicholas Walko of Canfield took place at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Monsignor John Zuraw officiated.
After a reception at the Grand Pavilion of the Avalon Inn in Howland, the couple left for a honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They live in Poland.
Parents of the bride are Patricia Work of Poland and Bruce Work of New Springfield. The groom is a son of Barbara Walko of Canfield and Tom Walko of Findlay.
The bride’s ivory gown featured a lace overlay and a sweetheart neckline.
Eggplant-colored gowns were worn by Dr. Katie Stabi and Kellie Ohl, the honor attendants, and the bridesmaids, Pam Walko and Amanda Davis. Flower girl was Mia Dingman.
Sharing the duties of best man were James Gratz and Marc Work, and groomsmen were Mike Leskanic and Brody DiCioccio.
The bride graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University and graduated magna cum laude with a juris doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. She is a self-employed attorney in Canfield.
The groom is a carpenter with Local Union 171 and is employed by Patent Construction at the Sammis Plant.
