Felony riot charged against swarming Pa. teens
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia police are charging more than a dozen teens with felony rioting after the latest in a string of daytime mob incidents downtown.
Police say 13 juveniles and three adults were charged after a crowd of unruly teens fought Wednesday in a shopping district near City Hall.
They say about 40 youngsters were on the scene.
The arrests mark at least the third time in recent months that roving teens have descended on the area. Authorities say they have sometimes assaulted shoppers or police, or fought with each other.
Police vow to take the incidents seriously by pursuing stiff criminal charges.
