Police are trying to determine who robbed a 58-year-old city man and his elderly mother inside their West Side home.
According to police, the man heard a knock at the door of his North Hazelwood Avenue home Tuesday night and answered it believing it was his brother who lives next door.
A masked intruder confronted the homeowner demanding money.
Police reports say the intruder pushed the man to the floor while holding his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun.
The intruder went through the man’s pockets taking 54 OxyContin pills, a wallet, bank card and $60.
The resident’s 91-year-old mother tried to help her son and was shoved by the intruder.
She was checked by ambulance technicians and released at the scene.
The intruder ran out of the house after stealing the merchandise.
