POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:

Feb. 25

Burglary: Took place at a second-floor apartment in the 7000 block of Paxton Road.

Theft: Tammy P. Bailing, 35, of 7018 Marinthiana Ave., Boardman, was charged with stealing a $30 bottle of perfume from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Joseph M. Czap, 53, of 848 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of a $42 bottle of cologne from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. He also was wanted on a felony warrant from Stark County charging him with complicity to theft.

Aggravated menacing: A woman reported her 14-year-old son was threatened with bodily harm while at Boardman Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave.

Identity theft: A South Schenley Avenue man found out someone had opened a credit-card account in his name without permission when he received a letter regarding a default payment.

Theft: A worker for a South Avenue business discovered $500 missing from her purse.

Feb. 26

Theft: An employee of King Collision, LLC, 8020 Market St., reported a chrome wheel and a tire stolen, for a $400 loss.

Burglary/criminal damaging: At an apartment in the 800 block of Cook Avenue, from which an electric guitar and an entertainment stand were stolen. Also, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was damaged.

Drugs: Police cited 24-year-old Aaron C. Zweck, 7051 West Blvd., Boardman, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after investigating a possible domestic situation at the residence.

Theft: Stella Economos, 62, of 389 Charles Ave., Warren, was charged, accused of taking $77 worth of jewelry from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A driver near U.S. Route 224 and West Boulevard told police someone tossed an object and broke a rear driver’s-side window.

Theft: A piece of mail containing five checks was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Sugarcane Drive.

Theft: Police booked a 15-year-old township boy after a $68 shirt was stolen from Macy’s. The teen was released to the custody of his grandmother.

Theft of services: Someone was seen illegally dumping garbage in a trash bin belonging to a business in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: Two people rented but failed to return a car to Enterprise Rent-a-Car, 7880 Market St., at the agreed-upon time.

Feb. 27

Arrest: A traffic stop near Route 224 led to the arrest of 23-year-old Terrill J. Blackshear, 1824 Lansdowne Blvd., on a warrant from Campbell accusing him of failure to appear in court.

Theft: Shawn E. Glover, 26, of Erie, Pa., faced a felony count after $865 worth of clothing was stolen from Macy’s.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 30 block of Carter Circle after forced entry had been made.

Theft: A Youngstown boy, 16, was charged and released to the custody of his grandmother after two BB guns and a package of razor blades had been taken from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A firearm was stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Mathews Road.

Criminal damaging: A car at a Tiffany Boulevard restaurant had a driver’s-side headlight damaged and dents in its hood.

Feb. 28

Arrest: Officers responded to a dispute at a Green Bay Drive residence and charged 48-year-old Jacqueline M. Sadler, 120 Green Bay, with endangering a child after saying she was drunk while walking on the road with a 2-year-old child. Sadler also was cited on a charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Theft: Someone removed $200 worth of trading cards from a display case at a South Avenue flea market.

Theft: Roughly $54 worth of groceries was stolen from an apartment in the 4100 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Theft: Several items, including hair spray and bleach, were stolen from Wal-Mart, resulting in a charge against Iris M. Rios-Alabdi, 38, of 112 Jackson St., Campbell.

March 1

Criminal damaging: A man in his mid- to late 30s cut the plugs off power cords to two appliances at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Assault: An Alburn Drive woman alleged her boyfriend pushed her to the floor, then kicked and sprayed a nonlethal chemical irritant in her face. She suffered scratches and swelling.

Domestic violence: Michael F. Headlee, 45, of 4125 Stratford Road, was arrested at his residence and charged after his wife alleged that, during an argument, Headlee threatened to kill and bury her.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke a front window, then entered a doctor’s office in the 800 block of Southwestern Run Place. Nothing appeared to be missing or disturbed, however.

Domestic violence: Neil T. Necastro Jr., 38, of 1998 Mathews Road, Boardman, faced a felony charge when, police said, he admitted to having slapped his pregnant girlfriend several times in the face and forehead after an argument. An officer noticed swelling and other injuries, a report said.

Menacing: A Cook Avenue woman said her former boyfriend is engaging in a pattern of harassment and making threats.

Fraud: A Daffodil Lane woman reported receiving a check with the name of a fictitious company.

Identity fraud: A Mathews Road woman discovered someone had used her cell-phone number to harass employees of a phone company. Her number was unwittingly the source of derogatory and offensive calls directed at the company, a report showed.

Theft: Denise M. Frazier, 21, of 215 Beachwood Drive, Youngstown, was charged with stealing two earring sets from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Lisa L. Ruz, 40, of 5785 Callaway Circle, Youngstown, was charged and released on a summons. She was accused of stealing $75 worth of jewelry from Macy’s.

Fraud: A Jaronte Drive woman discovered a $375 check mailed to her had been stolen and forged.
