COBALT RECALL

COBALT RECALL

Chevrolet dealers may sell some 2010 Cobalts but not others after a recall to fix faulty power steering.

Greg Greenwood, a local Chevrolet dealer, said General Motors repaired the problem recently so cars built since the change are not subject to the recall. Automatic-transmission 2010 Cobalts with a vehicle identification number of A7186588 or higher and manual-transmission models with a VIN of A7187135 or higher are not part of the recall.

Consumers who have bought other models will be notified. The recall covers 2005 to 2010 Cobalts and 2007 to 2010 Pontiac G5s. GM announced the recall Monday, saying the defect could make a car harder to drive under 15 mph. Vehicles don’t lose steering.
