BOARDMAN — Ocho Rios, Jamaica, was the honeymoon destination of Johnathan D. Phillis and his bride, the former Lauren M. Shevetz, both of 10768 Seacrist Road, Beloit, following their Nov. 7, 2009, wedding at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park.

The Rev. Kathrine Daniels officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony, and the couple greeted guests during a reception at The Links at Firestone Farms in Columbiana.

The daughter of Martin and Robin Shevetz, 2575 Stewart Road, Lowellville, and the son of Rodney Phillis of Beloit and Elaine Wolfgang of Columbiana, live in Beloit.

The bride’s strapless A-line taffeta gown featured an empire waistline and a chapel train.

Mocha-colored gowns were worn by Sarah Finch, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Abbey Taylor, Laura Bryer, Terri Ramunno, Angela Duca and Marianne Duca. Flower girl was Lacey Phillis.

Daniel Burton served as best man, and groomsmen were Chris Ludwig, Chad Burton, Tim Hoffman, Matt Heineman and Aaron Grimm. Ring bearer was Garrett Grimm. Also participating were Robert Shevetz and Richard Shevetz.

The bride, a transportation engineer with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Akron, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

The groom is a salesman with Bonnie Plants in Homeworth.
