To request legal services before a foreclosure has been filed:
Free legal advice with no income limits may be obtained before a foreclosure is filed by calling Becky Walters at Community Legal Aid Services at (330) 983-2532 or (866) 584-2350, extension 2532.
To request legal services after a foreclosure has been filed:
Call the Community Legal Aid Services Help Line at (800) 998-9454. In foreclosure cases, people with household incomes at or below 21‚Ñ2 times the federal poverty level are eligible for Community Legal Aid assistance. For a family of four, the eligibility ceiling would be $55,128 in annual household income. There is no fee for legal services.
To find U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-certified housing counselors who can provide free help to homeowners seeking mortgage loan modifications:

To find general information about foreclosure and other foreclosure resources:

To attend a free legal aid clinic:
Call the Volunteer Legal Services Program, (330) 983-2695 or (877) 401-0088. Sessions are usually at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Next clinic, 5 p.m. March 9 at the Trumbull County Legal Aid Office, 160 E. Market St., Suite 225, Warren, Ohio 44481.
Local lawyers provide free legal advice to those who can’t afford legal fees concerning debts, bankruptcies and foreclosures; divorce, custody and visitation; domestic violence; landlord-tenant issues; expungements; and benefits.
