18-year-old man injured in shooting


YOUNGSTOWN — An 18-year-old South Side man was injured in an early-morning shooting Sunday.The emergency room at St. Elizabeth Health Center alerted police that a gunshot victim had arrived early Sunday.

Police interviewed Adrian Colon, 18, of the 200 block of East Lucius Avenue who said he was walking on Boston Avenue at about 3:39 a.m. Sunday when a dark-colored car approached, slowed down, and the driver began firing.

Colon was hit in the right thigh. He called his mother, who picked him up at the corner of Shirley and Boston and drove him to the hospital. A silver bullet fragment was removed from his leg and turned over to police.

He was reported in stable condition Sunday night.

Colon told police he had been at a bar and was walking to a friend’s house.
