Rose society selects winners of show

YOUNGSTOWN

The eighth annual Mahoning Valley Rose Society Rose Show took place June 12 and 13 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park.

Entries were judged by Pat Sommer and Jeff Sommer, accredited American Rose Society judges, who announced the following winners:

Pat Martinec won Best of Show, HT Princess, HT Court, Elizabeth Fellows Trophy, Mini Court and Best Miniature Open Bloom.

Margaret Raupach won the HT King, Best HT Spray, Best Climber, Best Classic Shrub, Most Fragrant Rose and Best Miniature Spray.

R.J. Anthony and Kristine Vance won the HT Queen, HT Court, Best Floribunda, Best Fl Spray, Best Modern Shrub, Dowager Queen, Victorian, Best Polyantha Spray, HT Open bloom, Best Lg Single Petal, Best Rose Bowl Lg, HT Matched Pair, Richard Stromberg Trophy, Mini Queen, Mini King, Mini Princess, Mini Court, Best Single Mini, MiniFl Queen, MiniFl King, MiniFl Princess, MiniFl Court, Mini Court, Best Rose Bowl Mini Bloom, Best Rose Bowl MiniFl Bloom and Best MiniFl Matched Pair.

Mary Johnson took home the Novice Trophy and Pat Sommer received the Best Judge’s Award.
