“Rescue Me” (10 p.m., FX): The combustible drama that is “Rescue Me” opens its sixth season with Tommy (Denis Leary) experiencing a vision of his afterlife. Oh, that just can’t be pretty.

“Louie” (11 p.m., FX): In the new sitcom “Louie,” stand-up comedian Louis C.K. taps into his own life to tell the story of a single dad raising two daughters in New York. In the opener, he takes a field trip with his girls and goes on a date. Neither ends up well.
