Police investigate possible electrocution

Police are investigating the death of a city man who may have been electrocuted.
Police were called shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday to the New Castle Refractories building on Industrial Road. Jonathan Donofrio, 30, of New Castle, had been found in a fenced-in area of the business and was pronounced dead by the Lawrence County coroner’s office.
Donofrio’s girlfriend found him and contacted authorities.
The area where the body was found was a high-voltage area of the building, according to police.
Several tools and a bag containing copper pieces were found at the scene.

Fire in Howland

A fire caused about $350,000 in damage to a township home and its contents.
Firefighters were called about 2:30 a.m. Sunday to the home at 9021 Altura Drive. Crews cleared the scene about 9 a.m.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
A cause hasn’t been determined.
History camp

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is offering High Tech History Summer Camp for children age 8 to 13 at the historical society, 648 Wick Ave.
Campers will make video documentaries about local historical topics. They will learn how to research, organize and communicate a historical story on video.
Camps run from 9 a.m. to noon July 6-9 for age 8 to 10 and Aug. 10-13 for age 11 to 13.
