Summer camp

YOUNGSTOWN

New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will have 2010 C.H.A.M.P.S. Summer Camp for grades pre-K through eight.

The camp, which is Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., begins Monday and runs through Aug. 6.

The cost is $75 per child.Some highlights: Daily academics and reading program, breakfast and lunch, field trips, structured exercise time, and weekly nutrition classes.

Grades five through eight will participate in a science, math and robotics program taught by certified teachers sponsored by NASA.

Dinner canceled

The spaghetti dinner that was scheduled for Sunday at Catholic Charities Senior Center has been canceled.

Poker run planned

GREENVILLE, Pa.

UPMC Horizon employees will host their fifth annual motorcycle poker run Aug. 7 as a benefit for the UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation Transportation Fund.

Participants will leave from the Greenville campus and stop at the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg, My Brother’s Place in Grove City and the Clark House in Clark. The run will end with dinner and music at the Fisherman’s Cove in Orangeville.

The grand prize will be a night’s stay at the Foxburg Inn and a gift card to the Allegheny Grille. The cost is $20 for drivers and $15 for passengers. Those registering by July 23 will receive a free T-shirt.
