SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced


1418 Auxiliary Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brownstone Court, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, 330-755-2865. John Texter will preside. Cancellations must be made by Monday to Sandy Redeske at 330-755-5192. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. Cards and bingo will be played. Illness or deaths among members should be reported to Ann Banyots at 330-783-2019.

Cornersburg Happy Seniors will meet Thursday at 11:15 a.m. at A La Cart Catering in Canfield, with Betsy Koneval presiding. A picnic lunch will be served. The program will be presented by Lynn Zocolo of Fellows Riverside Gardens. Greeters are Dorothy Woods and Carolyn Steiner. The public is invited to attend by calling Koneval at 330-793-7755 to reserve lunch at a cost of $10. Guests are welcome to join the group at a cost of $5 in annual dues.

Erie-Mahoning Valley Railroad Association will meet at noon Tuesday at Belleria Pizzeria, 3460 S. Meridian Road, Cornersburg. Reports will be given, and birthdays will be recognized. All railroad retirees and their spouses are welcome.

Lowellville Senior Citizens will not meet Friday due to the July 4th holidays. The next meeting will be at noon Aug. 6 at the conference room at Lowellville City Hall, where a picnic lunch will be provided. July and August birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. Reservations or cancellations can be made with Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176. Members are asked to take a donation for a gift basket to the Sept. 3 meeting. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played. Bob Ferrara will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio, District 2, Chapter 10, will have an annual picnic at 5:30 p.m. July 8 at Masters Pavilion in Boardman Township Park. Members are asked to take a covered dish. All retirees and DROP participants of Ohio Police and Fire Disability and Pension Fund in Mahoning and Columbiana counties, their spouses and survivors are welcome.
