A man who’s charged with aggravated murder in a shooting death was arraigned Friday and taken to the Mahoning County jail on $1 million bond.

Tyrell Ravnell, 19, of Halleck Street, Youngstown, is charged in the death of Christian Black-shear, 19, of Wirt Street, Youngstown. Blackshear was shot in the head with an AK-47 on a sidewalk in the Kirwan housing project here as he walked to his car at 12:05 a.m. last Sunday, police said.

Ravnell previously was charged with murder in the death of a woman who was shot in the Kirwan homes in February 2008, police said.

Diana Noble, 39, was shot at the project and drove herself back to her home in Howland, where she died.

Ravnell pleaded guilty in that case to an amended charge of negligent homicide and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle. He pleaded in August 2009 and was sentenced to 304 days in jail with credit for 241 days served.

Ravnell will be back in Campbell court July 2 for a preliminary hearing in the Blackshear homicide.
