34west to stage ‘Ruth’ at festival
NEW YORK
34west Theater, the Youngstown-originated national touring troupe, will present its original play “My Name is Ruth” at the New York International Fringe Festival Aug. 13-29.
Playwright Stephen W. Baldwin and artistic director Jeffrey Querin started 34west in Boardman 10 years ago to produce original and uplifting works. 34west performs new works routinely at Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana, Ohio.
In 2008, the duo expanded 34west to Long Island City, N.Y., with the goal of producing shows in Manhattan.

Historical Society plans summer camp
YOUNGSTOWN
The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present High Tech History Summer Camp in July and August. Participants will make video documentaries about local historical topics to gain a perspective on the past. They will also learn how to research, organize and communicate a historical story on video. Family and friends will be invited on the last day of camp for the premiere of the documentaries.
Camps run from 9 a.m. to noon July 6-9 for ages 8-10; and Aug. 10-13 for ages 11-13 Cost is $20. Call 330-743-2589 to register.
Art Youngstown opens up The Vault
YOUNGSTOWN
Art Youngstown Inc. will hold a premiere party to show off the graffiti created by 24 artists on the walls of Vault, the soon-to-open nightclub in the basement below Rosetta Stone, 110 W. Federal St. in downtown Youngstown.
