June 17

Theft: Police charged Dwayne R. Freed, 46, of 5095 Clayton Circle, New Castle, Pa., with stealing $270 worth of groceries from Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road. Freed also was wanted by Boardman authorities on a larceny charge.

Recovered property: Police seized a license plate someone had found on state Route 7 near Rogers.

June 18

Recovered property: A 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass was found abandoned in Youngstown after a Manor Avenue man had reported it stolen.

June 20

Arrests: Authorities apprehended 26-year-old Gregory J. Thomas, 2238 Middletown Road, Poland, and Marc D. Peluso, 22, of 2367 Manor Ave., Poland, after saying Thomas and Peluso had fled on all-terrain vehicles as officers tried to stop them near Struthers Road. The two were charged with failure to comply with police and released on summonses.
