CH Campbell students scream for ice cream
Students at CH Campbell Elementary School always feel appreciated, but they felt extra special during Student Appreciation Day June 8.
This is a day at the school during which the teachers, staff and PTO show the students how much they enjoy them and thank them for a great and successful school year.
The students were treated to ice cream sundaes, courtesy of the PTO, during recess. The children custom-ordered the toppings they wanted on their sundaes and volunteer members of the PTO served them.
Students could choose from various toppings, including chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, sprinkles, gummy worms, Oreos, butterscotch chips, whipped cream, and cherries on top.
The Cornersburg Dairy Queen, owned by Chrissy and Ray Smith, provided the ice cream at cost to the PTO. The 3 ounces of ice cream was prepackaged in 5-ounce cups to leave room for lots of toppings.
After eating their treats, the children yelled many rounds of thank you’s to the PTO volunteers before running off to play on the playground.
