Boardman cheerleaders host camp

It isn’t high school football season yet, but the cheerleaders are getting ready.
Boardman High School held its annual Cheer Camp from Monday through Wednesday for young cheerleaders in the Boardman area. The camp was sponsored and conducted by Boardman’s junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders.
The three-day camp was held from 8 a.m. to noon daily in the halls of the high school. It was free of charge and open to the public. St. Charles School’s seventh and eighth-grade cheerleaders, in addition to Boardman local school cheerleaders, attended the camp.
Kindergartners through ninth-graders learned cheers, jumps, moves and a dance routine to perform for parents at the end of camp show Wednesday. Varsity cheerleaders said the younger students look forward to the camp each year and learn a lot in a short amount of time.
