Austintown Growth Foundation honors essay winners

April Lesko and April Krempasky received scholarships for writing 500-word essays based on the theme “What would you do if you had unlimited resources to make Austintown a better community to live in?” at the meeting of the Austintown Growth Foundation June 7.

This is the 18th annual scholarship award issued by the Growth Foundation.

Lesko will attend Youngstown State University in the fall with her eye on a nursing career. She is involved in band and track.

Krempasky will attend a school in central Florida with a major in event and hospitality and a long term goal of working at Disney World. She was involved in Relay for Life, Interact Club, student council and an NHS student.

The girls will represent the Austintown Growth Foundation in the upcoming Fourth of July parade.
