The American Red Cross of Trumbull and Mercer Counties is offering its “Learn to Swim” program at the following locations. To register, call 330-392-2551.

In Niles, Waddell Pool, July 12-23. 9:50 a.m., Levels 2, 5 and 6; 10:40 a.m., Levels 2, 5 and 6; 11:30 a.m., preschool.

In Warren, Warren G. Harding High School pool, Aug. 2-11. 9:50 a.m., Levels 1, 3 and 4; 10:40 a.m., Levels 2, 5 and 6.

Free meetings

Medicare eligible retirees of General Motors Lordstown Complex, Delphi and Packard Electric, both salaried and hourly, their family and friends are invited to free educational meetings about health-care reform and how to prepare for it.

Meetings are scheduled at the Canfield Hampton Inn, Austintown Community Church, and IUE-CWA Local 717 Hall in Warren.

Health fair

NEW CASTLE, PA.

A Veterans Affairs Health Fair, presented by the VA in conjunction with the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, is Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at American Legion Post 343, 134 North Jefferson St. Various health screenings will be offered along with VA enrollment and eligibility information. Veterans should bring a copy of the DD 214 to register.

‘Bagels for Babies’

Panera Bread through its “Bagels for Babies” campaign will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from every cinnamon-crunch bagel sold Tuesday to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

In addition, community members can stop at any of the local Panera Bread bakery-cafes to pre-order their cinnamon-crunch bagels before Saturday.

The Bagels for Babies campaign will take place at Panera Bread locations in Austintown, Boardman, Canfield, Warren and Hermitage, Pa. Clear Channel Radio will support the fund-raising effort with live broadcasts at the local bakery-cafes from 6-10 a.m.

Additionally, WKBN will host a Kids Identi-kit in which children can receive a free identification card and an emergency information booklet at the Warren location between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Panera Bread will also continue its partnership with Akron Children’s through the Operation Dough-Nation program. During the months of July and August, Panera Bread is collecting cash donations made by customers in their community bread boxes for ACHMV.

Grief workshop

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown-Catholic Charities Regional Agency is offering a workshop dealing with grief at its Youngstown office, 2401 Belmont Ave., at noon Monday. This session is open to the public, free of charge and conducted by a licensed counselor.

Topics to be discussed include: The Grief Process and Grief Journey, Stages and Emotions of Grief, Circumstances that Affect Grief, Self Help Strategies, and Additional Resources. Registration is encouraged.

Charitable gift

The Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic (NKRC) has received $10,000 from the Home Savings Charitable Foundation. The money will be used for the replacement of the courtyard windows at Kennedy’s main campus and is a critical part of a capital improvement effort, said Jerry Carter, NKRC executive director.
