Ohio Glaciers win 2 in Class AA baseball

YOUNGSTOWN

The Ohio Glaciers scored on a dozen hits, and limited Tri-County to only four in a 10-1 win in the Class AA League at Pemberton Park on Wednesday.

Brad Bates struck out eight batters and walked two to earn the win.

Cory Johnson relieved him after six innings, and struck out two of his tree batters.

Four Glaciers’ players had two hits, and the four had two RBIs.

Dave Leon scored twice, and Joe Iacobucci and Cory Hill each scored and brought in two runs.

Dan Monaco had two of the four Tri-County hits.

Ohio Glaciers 9, Hickory 0

YOUNGSTOWN

Four Hickory errors led to runs for the Glaciers, who had eight hits off of Bill Nelson and Mark Thompson. Bob Switka had eight strikeouts, and Miki Cabrera and Mike Hoelzel had two hits for the Glaciers. Garren Ream had two hits for Hickory.

Class B League Livi Steel 10, Astro Falcons 7

Livi scored seven runs in the first inning and Tyler Hartman and Tyler Budisky combined on a five-hitter. Tyler Calahan and Alex Cuckovich each had two hits for Livi, with one of Cuckovich’s being a double. Dante Delbane also doubled for Livi.
