ACTION schedules meeting

ACTION plans a leadership meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Michael Church, 281 Glenview Road, where the Rev. Terry Hazel is pastor.

The session is for Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods core-team members, board members, task-force members and clergy.

Participants will receive training on establishing core teams, conducting one-on-one interviews and identifying community issues.

They also will discuss long-term viability of the metropolitan area’s urban and suburban neighborhoods. A special guest facilitator from Pittsburgh will attend.

The meeting is part of the AmericaSpeaks effort, whose mission is to help citizens gain a greater voice in public decisions. It sponsors Community Conversations on the Power of 32, which refers to 32 counties in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia that are part of the same regional area. Residents gather to brainstorm about assets and opportunities in the region.
