Other costs in the academic-recovery plan for Youngstown schools as prepared by a consultant:

$120,000 a year to hire someone to oversee the plan implementation.

$120,000 a year to hire someone or an organization to do a comprehensive audit of district systems, policies and processes.

$600,000 a year to hire six leadership mentors to assist 15 school principals to improve building management, discipline, staff evaluation and feedback and support and monitor the plan’s implementation strategies.

$117,500 a year to train teachers as part of an effort to provide a system of intervention/acceleration services to meet the individual needs of all elementary students.

$204,000 a year to hire three teachers (if the positions can’t be filled from within) to serve as double literacy teachers and coaches in the middle schools.

$272,000 to provide two teachers in both Chaney and East High schools to serve as double literacy and double math teachers.
