Historical society welcomes new member

David Shivers, president of the Salem Historical Society, left, presents David Hazen, a new member of the society, a copy of Dale Shaffer's book, "More of the Salem Story With Photographs." The historical society is offering a copy of the book, an $18 value, with all new memberships until Jan 1, 2011. The book, written in 1992, features more than 88 articles covering a wide range of subjects. Those who are interested can contact the society at 208 S.
