Vandals put an egg and shaving cream on the door of the Mahoning County Republican headquarters, located on U.S. Route 224 near the intersection with West Boulevard. The building was closed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. When workers showed up at 10 a.m. Friday, one egg was splattered on the door, its shell in pieces on the ground, and shaving cream coated the door handle.
Guilty in break-in

A 21-year-old Howland man has pleaded guilty to burglary and will be sentenced to up to 18 months in prison for breaking into a house on Heather Lane Northwest.
Sid-Michael Taylor, 21, of Castle Rock Drive, entered the plea Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court before Judge Peter Kontos.
A woman told police she and her daughters awoke at 4 a.m. April 28 to find Taylor in their house. The woman screamed, and Taylor left. Warren police found Taylor a short time later.
Bullet hits vehicle, causing accident

A vehicle driven by a 24-year-old woman from Youngstown was shot as she was driving north on Logan Way. The victim told police she was driving along Logan Way when a white SUV began following her closely then accelerated, and shots were fired about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The victim lost control of her vehicle, which was hit on the driver’s side, and struck a guardrail in the vicinity of 3700 Logan Way, then hit a utility pole before coming to a stop. Near the 100 block of Mill Run Road, police found a bullet casing in a yard and seven others on the side of the road.
