Another charged with embezzlement from Covelli Centre’s food and drink vendor

Police arrested the ex-office manager of the Covelli Centre’s food and drink vendor on a felony theft charge accusing her of embezzling money from the company.

The Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Unit arrested Mary K. Lewis, 40 at her Karl Street home in Youngstown.

Lewis was the supposed victim in a Jan. 26 robbery at the center. In the robbery police report, her name is Kathy Lewis.

Lewis will be arraigned at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Youngstown Municipal Court.

Police charged Mark P. Daigle, the former local general manager of the food and drink vendor Centerplate — formerly known as Boston Culinary — for theft last week in relation to embezzlement.

Police are investigating whether Lewis and Daigle, 38, of Steeplechase Drive in Youngstown staged the January robbery to cover up the embezzlement.
